Position Summary The Midstream Operations Superintendent will be responsible for the safe and efficient operationof Chord Midstream Facilities including gathering systems, gas processing, crude stabilization, and produced water disposal. The person in this role will be the internal and external representative of the company related to midstream operations. This position is located in Williston, ND and requires regular travel to the field and occasional travel to the corporate office in Houston, TX. Monday - Friday hybrid 9/80 work schedule with the option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays. Level and salary commensurate with experience. Essential Job Functions
  • Supervise and develop a growing team including internal and contract employees
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance and integrity of the midstream facilities including gathering systems, gas processing plants, crude oil stabilizers, and produced water disposal
  • Support and continue to develop the safety and environmental programs related to midstream operations including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Advise operations team on troubleshooting, problem solving and reduction of repetitive failures
  • Work closely with third party companies to coordinate the custody transfer of gas and oil
  • Assure compliance with OSHA PSM, and other applicable regulations
  • Assist in planning, construction and commissioning of new construction activities including design drawing reviews, hydro-test review, hazard analysis (HAZOPs), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs), purging and startup
  • Accountable for tracking and forecasting midstream capital and operational expenses and reviewing revenue inputs for accuracy
  • Present quarterly business profit & loss results for the midstream operations
  • Provide operational feedback on completed projects for continual improvement
  • Assist in the evaluation of new projects opportunities presented by different teams within the company including Marketing, Upstream Facilities, New Ventors, and Innovations Teams
  • Work closely with the land team to proactively address landowner concerns and maintain local relationships
  • Participate in programs to continue personal and professional development

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 10 years of industry experience related to design, construction and operation of midstream assets
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Must live within 70-mile radius of Williston, ND
  • Prior leadership experience in a field-based position
  • Ability to set expectations, coach, mentor, and develop employees to enhance implementation and cost efficiencies
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Proven results in working with inter-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel (<10% expected)
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite, Accounting Systems, SCADA Systems, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
    • Able to handle exposure to extreme weather conditions and areas where hazardous chemicals are present
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, kneel, stoop, sit and walk extensively
    • Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical, and to be able to meet all physical requirements of the job

  • Working knowledge of carbon steel and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) operation and best practices
  • Exposure to Electrical & Instrumentation projects
  • Working knowledge of measurement devices and standards
