Foth is currently seeking a team-focused, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented Lead Warehouse Automation (Distribution and Logistics) Integrator who has a desire to contribute to our clients' success and is looking for new learning experiences, and opportunities for career growth. This position will be working out of our Green Bay, WI or US-Based Remote office location, and will require 25-35% annual travel (50% at peak times).
Role Description
As the Lead Warehouse Automation Integrator, you will play a critical role in optimizing logistics processes for some of the country's largest CPG & industrial manufacturers, while contributing to the growth of Foth's Distribution and Logistics Technology group. You will be responsible for the technical leadership through the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization to implementation, while being supported by a highly skilled team of program/project managers, engineers, and subject matter experts.
This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial and adaptable engineer with consulting experience, as the duties will evolve based on specific customer and project requirements. (Which could mean being in a customer-facing role, driving operational analysis, and providing future state conceptual design solutions. Or in later project phases, taking on the role of technical project manager, coordinating and aligning multiple automation providers on-site, or the role of process specialist to redesign a material flow during implementation.)

Logistics & Material Handling Expertise:
  • Advanced knowledge of supply chain design, logistics concepts, automated material handling systems, warehouse management principles, and the ability to explain and rationalize design decisions in customer-facing environments is essential.
  • Experience in Operations Design for manual, automated or hybrid facilities.
  • Serve as a customer advocate in their automation journey, guiding automated material handling technology selection, integration, and implementation.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of existing warehouse and material movement/storage processes, identifying opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Design, estimate and implement cost effective material handling and automation solutions utilizing fit for purpose technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal & external teams to refine material flow and optimize facility layouts for maximum efficiency.
Solution Integration & Technical Leadership:
  • Identify scope, develop proposals, and create efficient and effective designs for client(s)
  • Lead automation projects from inception to completion, diving analysis, managing timelines, and making experience-based adjustments/recommendations.
  • Oversee installation, communication and testing of automation equipment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across companies, including engineers, operations, and IT, to ensure project success and alignment with strategic goals.
Automation & IT/OT Technical Expertise:
  • Possess a foundational understanding (at a minimum) of industrial automation principles, including PLC programming, SCADA systems, and integration protocols.
  • Work with controls engineers and vendors to select, integrate, and program automation technologies.
  • Working knowledge of software integration to ensure new automation solutions are seamlessly merged into existing facility management systems.
  • Experience with IT/OT convergence and knowledge of integrating automation solutions with enterprise systems is highly desirable.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering , or a combination of 2 or 4-year technology degrees supplemented with equivalent technical training or experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant software or systems design/implementation experience with exposure to supply chain systems/engineering environments, including systems integration and troubleshooting complex projects.
  • Ability to manage the technical portion of all stages of the development process: design, testing, implementation, and operational support across multiple stakeholders and providers
  • Strong software solution fundamentals (ex., WMS/WES/WCS, MES. ERP), including integration methodologies.
  • Knowledge of various automated material handling and storage technologies such that "best fit" components can be recommended to clients. (AMR/AGV, ASRS, Conveyance)
  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale, fault-tolerant, highly integrated systems.
  • Travel as required (domestic and/or international) for fieldwork and/or other client/business objectives (25-35% annually, with surges up to 50% at times)

The base compensation listed for this job posting reflects a general range for the posted position. Base compensation will vary based on factors such as: years of experience, location, level of responsibility and licenses/certifications. In addition to base compensation, Foth members may be eligible to receive bonuses through our Earned Performance Incentive program. All employees are eligible for On-the-Spot bonuses. Exempt members are also eligible for either quarterly and/or annual bonuses.
