Responsibilities

The position of Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) reports to the Director of Surgical Services in the Surgical Services Department. The CSFA is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures. The CSFA performs wound closure, sutures subcutaneous tissue and skin.



Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

    Certification in Surgical Technology/Certified First Assistant.
  1. Successful completion of a training program in a recognized First Assistant program.
  2. Five years experience in an acute care operating room in the scrub role, preferred.
  3. Must be proficient in the following specialties: a. General b. Vascular c. Bariatrics d. Trauma Orthopedics
  4. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  5. Basic computer skills.
