Schedule Weekly Hours:

24 Join the mobile mammography team within our Center for Breast Care department! It's a fantastic team of three and will rotate between driving the RV to mobile sites (within WI, MN, and IA) and working in the clinics.

What's available:

-.6FTE (24 hours weekly

- 8 hour shifts, core hours will be 630am to 4pm

- Never in the RV alone, always working with a team

What is required:

- Licensed Radiographer in the state of WI

- AART

- AART-Mammography within 9 months of hire

- Fedral Medical Card

- Valid Driver's License

- Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice - Iowa (RADTECH-IA)

- In-House Driver's Road Test Certificate within 90 days of hire

- BLS CPR

Job Description:

Performs high quality mammographic/radiologic exams and procedures to aide in medical diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Drives and maintains the mobile mammography truck.

Major Responsibilities:
1. Works with Gundersen Health System patients and their families to provide compassionate, individualized care in the provision of Breast Imaging services. Understands and applies the concepts of Mammography when performing examinations on patients.
2. Responsible for documentation of exams and communications with Breast Radiologist.
3. Flexibility concerning work hours, work days and work locations- hours and locations may change with referral demand and mobile contracts.
4. Explains procedures to the patient as required.
5. Organizes daily schedule in cooperation with other technologies for efficient department operation.
6. Performs daily warm-up of all equipment according to department policies. Maintains supplies in the truck.
7. Carefully observes and follows all departmental radiation, mechanical and electrical safety policies. Pays particular attention to patient safety in regards to positioning patients. Keeps rooms and equipment clean and safe for operation. Reports an erratic machine operation or potential unsafe situations to Medical Physicist or Biomedical Engineers. Maintain a radiation-protected environment for themselves and patient.
8. Obtains, reviews, and integrates pertinent patient history, physical exam results, and supportive clinical data to facilitates optimum diagnostic results. Tracks and records abnormal mammogram patients for call-back studies, follow-up diagnostic results. Performs and evaluates quality control procedures and images on mammography equipment which meets ACR and MQSA requirements.
9. Demonstrates accurate knowledge of established protocols and equipment operation when performing exams on patients. Provides the best images possible to radiologists and providers for interpretation. Provides high quality service to customers in a cost effective and efficient manner.
10. Maintains confidentiality with others regarding patient and organizational information. Responsible for attending staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education as required by the department.
11. Assumes responsibility to provide a quality-learning environment for patients, their families, students and co-workers.
12. Utilizes knowledge of regulatory compliance when working with patients and their associated charges.

14. Manages the truck maintenance, cleaning schedules and responsible for snow removal at truck garage and at mobile sites for safe patient movement.
15. Maintains truck mileage and maintenance log as needed.
16. Performs check in and registration in Epic.

17. Responsible for driving, which includes driving and operating large commercial trucks and/or vehicles regulated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. Employee is responsible for performing appropriate safety inspections, assisting with maintaining vehicles in good repair, and completing applicable driving and maintenance logs. The employee will follow all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to driving assigned vehicle and promptly report to leadership or appropriate personnel, any vehicle concerns, traffic violations, citations, or accidents.

18. Performs other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Learning:
REQUIRED

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

Work Experience:
No experience required

DESIRED

1 year experience in Radiology

2 years experience in Mammography

License and Certifications:
REQUIRED

  • Wisconsin employees must be a Licensed Radiographer with the State of Wisconsin (LICRAD-WI)

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology Registered Technologist-Radiography (ARRT)

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology Registered Technologist-Radiology & Mammography (ARRT-M) within nine months of hire date

  • Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice - Iowa (RADTECH-IA)

  • Federal Medical Card

  • Valid Driver's License (DL)

  • In-House Driver's Road Test Certificate within 90 days of hire

  • Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning) from one of the following programs; American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
