Gundersen Health System is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and enhancing the employee experience through data-driven insights. We are currently seeking a highly skilled People Data Analyst to contribute to our mission.

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to the development and analysis of HR data in a cutting-edge environment utilizing tools such as Workday, Kronos, Power BI, as well as statistical programming languages like R and Python while working in an agile environment. Collaborating closely with Human Resources, Information Systems, and other stakeholders, you will help set the strategic direction for our analytics initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities. Grow your leadership skills by providing mentorship and guidance to data analysts on the team.

What you'll need:

  • 3+ years of HR experience as an analyst: Demonstrated experience in HR analytics is essential for this role, showcasing a deep understanding of HR processes and data.

  • Proficiency in Oracle SQL: Proficiency in Oracle SQL, particularly in an enterprise context, is highly valued for effective data manipulation and extraction.

  • Understanding of RDBMS: A comprehensive understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) is essential for proficient data management and querying.

  • Strong Statistical Knowledge: A solid foundation in statistics is required for data analysis. Proficiency in statistical tools such as R or Python is expected.

  • Requirements Elicitation and Visualization Skills: The ability to gather requirements effectively and translate them into Power BI visualizations is a core requirement of the role.

  • Experience with Workday, Lawson,and Kronos: While not mandatory, experience with these HR systems would be advantageous.

What you'll do:

  • Utilizing your HR expertise to analyze data and provide valuable insights to support strategic HR decisions.

  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders from HR, Information Systems, and other departments to ensure our systems align with organizational needs.

  • Utilizing tools such as Workday, Kronos, Power BI, R, and Python for data analysis and reporting.

  • Developing core measure sets, working with descriptive and informative data, building predictive models and conducting analyses related to workforce planning, staffing projections, engagement, demographics, and more.

  • Mentor the analytics team on technical and analytic skillsets and improve the overall department capabilities.

*Remote for WI, MN, or IA Residents (you must be willing to relocate to one of the three states). If desired, hybrid or on-site is available.

Job Description:

Responsible for complex data analytics with a high degree of uncertainty, performance measures, ongoing measurement, data collection, reporting, data visualizations and information dissemination. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Engages in data exploration exercises with a variety of complex business intelligence tools, requiring knowledge of relational and object-oriented database structures.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Partners with customers to identify business needs and create solutions in complex environments with multi-layered business processes. Presents and communicates in a manner that builds constructive and effective relationships.

2. Expert proficiency with analytic techniques & tools for the acquisition and transformation of raw data into meaningful and useful information for business and analysis purposes.

3. Responsible for developing standards and leading projects for data extraction, report creation & publishing and applicable audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, appropriate change control procedures, and performance optimization.

4. Responsible for developing and maintaining reporting solutions, metrics, dashboards, and trend analysis for all HR data needs, along with supporting documentation.

5. Provides mentoring and guidance to other team members and assists with identifying and meeting training needs.

6. Independently identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.

7. Adheres to regular and predictable attendance.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.
