Description
Individual will interact with other engineers and teams at various levels to ensure high quality analyses and calculations. Will develop documentation related to calculations, test results and analysis. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication skills, detail oriented and accountable for completion of work and assignments. Excellent planning and organizational skills, good judgment, and effective decision-making abilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
QUALIFICATIONS
The Horseheads Operation is part of the Mirion Sensing Systems Division and is located in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. We design, manufacture, test and deliver gas filled radiation detectors (proportional counters and ionization chambers) and associated hardware for use in commercial, naval, research and special purpose nuclear reactors. The Sensing Systems Division manufactures in-core and out-of-core radiation detectors, electrical penetrations and control components which operate in the extreme environments of nuclear power plants and nuclear research reactors worldwide. Targeted salary: $100 - $120k. Education
Bachelors of Physics (required)
Experience
Experience in project or design engineering with experience in neutron detection, neutron interactions with materials and radioactive decay. (required)
