About the team

The Pre-Sales Actuarial Team is a team of senior product and market specialists in the life insurance industry. The team sits within the Business Solutions Group in the Americas segment, as a team of actuarial specialists. The primary objective of the team is to assist clients and prospective clients understand how to best use and deploy FIS' risk management solution suite. The team works closely with clients, the sales team, the development team, and the Professional Services team.

In their client engagement capacity, the team collaborates with Prophet clients to understand their overall requirements and advise how the system can best be configured to meet those requirements. As technical lead on the team, you will coordinate with team members by providing subject matter expertise as well as market and client experience whilst meeting multiple concurrent deadlines with top quality work. In order to operate at this level, you will need to display a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of setting up an actuarial system, including environments, data flows, reporting dashboards, module installations and general IT concepts.

What you will be doing

The Pre-Sales Technical Lead is a highly motivated individual with proven credentials who can successfully work with all levels of the organization internally and externally to ensure success. The Pre-Sales Technical Lead be based in North America and will be reporting to the Insurance and Asset Management head of Business Solutions Americas. Due to the nature of the role, travel will be required.

  • This resource is focused on technical aspects of the Prophet solution including dataflows, configuration of non-actuarial modules and environmental issues. Explain technical value-adds for non-explicitly actuarial modules, and features (For example, distributed grid calculations or other non-Prophet technical tools used by actuaries)
  • Explain technical configuration of environments across different client sizes, inclusive of self-managed, on-prem, and FIS-managed deployments and how it relates to the usage of different licensed modules.
  • Map out the data/process needs of a prospective client.
  • Configure simple reports for client demonstration.
  • Configure automation tools, including APIs and other related tools, for client demonstrations.
  • Environment support for prospective clients:
    • Install basic Prophet modules in client environments.
    • Demonstrate data mapping and import/export.
    • Troubleshoot the environment as issues arise.
    • Answer client question on environment issues
    • Conduct performance tuning to reduce runtimes and increase stability.

What you bring:

  • Proven track record of technical expertise
  • Understanding of deployment environments (on-prem, hosted, cloud)
  • Understanding of dataflows in and out of source systems
  • Background in software module installations
  • Familiarity with reporting dashboards and deployments
  • Experience in client facing activities.
  • Analytical and consultative approach to client engagements
  • Equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English
  • Outstanding presentation abilities

Added bonus if you have:

  • Experience with actuarial software deployments, especially Prophet

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $136,600.00 - $225,400.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
