Are you eager to dive into the dynamic world of developmental disabilities and make a real impact? Get ready to take center stage as a 1099 Speech-Language Pathologist at our Bay School in Santa Cruz! The Bay School is seeking a contracted Part-Time Speech-Language Pathologist to join the related services team in a state-of-the-art school program for children and adolescents diagnosed with autism and developmental disabilities. The Bay School is a non-profit, nonpublic school located in Santa Cruz, California. We are part of May Institute, a national organization of award-winning programs for individuals with autism, brain injury, intellectual disabilities, and other behavioral healthcare needs. The Bay School employs the latest research findings to produce measurable and lasting improvements in the lives of children with autism

Our part time opportunity takes place 1-2 days per week, with flexibility to choose the specific day(s) Monday through Friday. The hours are from 8:30 AM to 2:45 PM, and there is flexibility to work half days if preferred.

Get Ready to Transform: Your Role in Action:



  • Develop and provide educational and treatment programming related to communication goals in the classroom setting for students with autism and related disabilities.
  • Engage in active consultation with all TBS classroom staff
  • Observe the staff work with the student, review data, model various teaching strategies for the staff, provide corrective feedback to staff
  • Work with the student to revise or probe techniques.
  • Asses students using appropriate evaluation practices.
  • Collaborate as part of the IEP team to develop functional transferable goals individualized for student success.
  • Develop formal and informal programs
  • Create treatment resources for use across the school day (E.g. Social Stories, visual supports, etc.).
  • Assemble multi-disciplinary Communication Passports for matriculating students



Your Skills and Talents: A Winning Combination!



  • CA Licensed SLP
  • ASHA CCCs preferred
  • Experience working with autistic individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
