SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR) POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT - On Site The Bay School is seeking a contracted Part-Time Speech-Language Pathologist to join the related services team in a state-of-the-art school program for children and adolescents diagnosed with autism and developmental disabilities. The Bay School is a non-profit, nonpublic school located in Santa Cruz, California. We are part of May Institute, a national organization of award-winning programs for individuals with autism, brain injury, intellectual disabilities, and other behavioral healthcare needs. The Bay School employs the latest research findings to produce measurable and lasting improvements in the lives of children with autism. General Summary of Duties: To develop and provide educational and treatment programming related to communication goals in the classroom setting for students with autism and related disabilities. The Speech & Language Pathologist is expected to engage in active consultation with all TBS classroom staff. During active consultation, the Speech & Language pathologist observes the staff work with the student, reviews data, models various teaching strategies for the staff, provides corrective feedback to staff, and directly works with the student to revise or probe techniques. The Bay School is a small, non-public school in Santa Cruz, CA providing 1:1 services and direct therapy support to a wide range of individuals ages 5-22. We are a highly collaborative, progressive, and engaged team consisting of SLPs, OTs, BCBAs, vocational coordinators, special education teachers, and direct care staff. We provide full day, year-round educational and vocational services using evidence-based practice. Supports include reliable and consistent daily data collected on speech and language programming by trained staff for easy progress review, multi-disciplinary progress reports and daily/quarterly/annual IEP documentation, and high levels of support and training from administration, teaching, and other related service providers #INDLP Other details
