In Carnegie Mellon University's Department of Mechanical Engineering, faculty members, researchers, and students are revolutionizingfocus areas in advanced manufacturing, bioengineering, computational engineering, energy and the environment, product design, and robotics. In addition, they are using their expertise ininterdisciplinary research centers across the university. Carnegie Mellon University is currently searching for Lab Coordinator to join the Mechanical Engineering department. This is an exciting opportunityfor someone whothrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You willcontributeto the department by assisting the Director of Operations in the management of MechE's collaborative lab facilities in Scaife Hall and Hammerschlag Hall. This position supports the research of all collaborative faculty research labs, including faculty, postdocs, and grad students, by providing a safe and smooth functioning lab, maintaining and managing equipment repairs, coordinating training on techniques and on equipment, and restocking of common lab supplies, etc. In addition, this position will provide support for cutting edge Mechanical Engineering research, including work with cell cultures, robotics, neural implants, advanced thermal/fluid experimentation, and with sophisticated equipment that can cost in the millions.
