Min T/E Requirements
Bachelor's degree in institutional planning, public administration, engineering, architecture, business administration, economics, industrial technology or a related discipline and two years of experience in facility and space planning are required; or equivalent experience and training. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Primary Purpose of Organization Unit
The mission of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke's Facilities Maintenance Department (comprised of Housekeeping, Grounds, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting, Setups and Motor Pool) is to provide support services to the University Community. The collective department of the Facilities Maintenance Department will strive to provide an effective academic environment. We believe that the means to personalized education is inherent in the physical spaces we provide for learning. Some of the characteristics that create an atmosphere which facilitates campus and community activities are: Cleanliness, attractiveness, comfort, accessibility, safety and systematically arranged spaces. The ultimate Goal of the Facilities Maintenance Department will be to condition our facilities, through inspection and audit programs, to design out new and renovated facilities for low cost life cycle maintenance, to assign our highest priorities to the most serious conditions and utilize all funding sources as good stewards.
Primary Purpose of Position
The position is assigned as a Project Manager under the supervision of the Director of Design and Construction in Facilities Management. The position will ensure successful project delivery (scope, budget and schedule compliance) on multiple assigned projects. The position is charged with developing clear project scopes and objectives; involving relevant stakeholders; ensuring technical feasibility; coordinating internal and external resources; continuous monitoring and reporting on project progress; maintaining comprehensive project documentation from project start to finish.
Job Description
Project Management *
Coordinate internal resources and external consultants/contractors/vendors for the successful execution of projects.
Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. Ensure resource availability and allocation.
Develop or approve program/project specifications in accordance with engineering principles, standards and codes.
Perform inspections to ensure that proper procedures are followed. Develop a detailed project plan to track project progress.
Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs. Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques. Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
Manage the relationship with the internal project clients and stakeholders. Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
Establish and maintain relationships with consultants, contractors and vendors.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation from project start to finish.
Administration
This element includes the time required to perform the administrative tasks required of a UNCP Facilities Management Project Manager. It includes multiple required UNCP training courses, routine administrative tasks (time/leave reporting, etc. performance appraisals and work plans), service on Hiring Committees for FM recruiting and in other departments ,and other miscellaneous duties and assignments in support of the University, the Finance and Administration Division and Facilities Management Department missions.

Position also performs coverage for short staff situations as well as event coverage during and outside normal campus business hours.

This position is Mandatory Personnel: Employees whose presence has been determined to be mandatory to University operations during certain types of adverse weather or emergency events.
Management Preference
North Carolina State Construction Office experience preferred;
UNC system or state agency experience preferred;
Experience working on university projects preferred.
Knowledge of Interscope, MS Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD and Sketch-up preferred.

Other Preferred but not required credentials:
1-Certifed Construction Manager ( CCM)
2-Facility Management Professional ( FMP)
3-Project Management Professional ( PMP)
4-NC Licensed General Contractor
Lic or Certification required by statute or regulation
Valid Driver's License
