Min T/E Requirements |
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Requires appropriate licenses or certifications to operate assigned types of vehicles or equipment.
Graduation from high school or completion of
GED.
Individual must possess a valid NC Class B Driver's Licenses
Drivers must complete a performance test in bus operation and have a clean driving record.
Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules and regulations, and of the precautions necessary to avoid an accident. Ability to operate a bus in a safe and economical manner. Ability to understand and carry out instructions. Ability to relate to students, parents and school personnel. Ability to complete various forms and records, including updated route sheets, time sheets, field trip forms, incident and accident reports. |

Job Description |
The Motor Pool Department at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke has a need for part-time Bus Drivers.
We invite applications to be submitted for potential openings.
These positions are especially suited for skilled workers in the operation of light and heavy buses. The position requires transport of students, faculty and staff to and from various events, following a pre-planned route and time schedule. Regulates heating equipment and ventilation of bus for comfort of passengers. Drives bus carefully and in compliance with traffic regulations. Assumes responsibility for the safety of passengers in loading, unloading and transporting them to and from events. Maintains discipline; reports unruly behavior to supervisor. Reports delays and accidents. Keeps operational records and makes simple reports. Reports defects or problems with vehicle to shop supervisor. Refuel vehicle during trips as necessary.
Bus drivers are on an as needed basis. |
