The Center strives to generate targeted, relevant solutions that reduce inequality and improve quality of life.
We are seeking a research scientist to help advance its Workforce Supply Chains initiative (WSC). This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in an exciting and challenging work environment. You will supply leading research efforts within the main goals of project and helping to coordinate interactions with other team members and external partners. Workforce Supply Chains is a methodological approach and suite of user tools developed at the center to rapidly characterize the stock and flow of workforce attributes (skills, knowledge, abilities, etc.) that could meet different workforce demands at a regional level. Key to the WSC framework is the concept of "occupational transitions" and better understanding the conditions under which workers can (and choose) to move into new roles. A successful research scientist will help to advance the state of these tools and the scientific basis of the methodology. More about the initiative can be found here. You should be able to work autonomously within a larger strategic framework, identifying methodological limitations or application opportunities and developing research approaches to further the frontier of the analytic capabilities of the WSC suite. The research scientist should be equally comfortable building tools for applied research functions and resolving high-level questions about the empirical validity of the methods being deployed. Our cultural values of dedication, collaboration, inclusion, and cultural sensitivity are our guiding principles. Therefore, we are in search of a team member who is able to optimally interact with a varied population of internal and external partners at a high level of integrity and respect.
