WHAT IS CAREER LAUNCH? Career Launch is a workforce development program designed to help you kickstart your health care career. We remove the financial burden of completing your degree while providing the mentoring and support needed to graduate. Our students attend local colleges and career centers to earn the skills needed to advance their careers. We offer the following tracks:

That'swhy we offer two different options for this program: Traditional Career Launch Our traditional Career Launch program provides an opportunity to work a full-time, part-time or PRN (on-call) position at Akron Children's while attending school at least part-time. Participants work in various roles and move into their clinical position after graduation to fulfill a two-year work commitment. Career Launch Plus Career Launch Plus is designed for employees and community members who want a fast track to graduation. Students attend school full-time while being offered up to fifteen hours of paid professional development time each month. This program offers more schedule flexibility and time to study. After graduation, participants fulfill a three-year work commitment to Akron Children's Hospital. PROGRAM BENEFITS We find ways to help program participants overcome common challenges by offering 100% paid tuition, paid fees for uniforms, books, supplies, and equipment, as wellas optionsfor other benefits including:

We also require that candidatesbe determinedto complete their educationwhilemeeting the expectations of the role they acceptwith the hospital. Our participants are driven, motivated, and willing to go the extra mile to succeed. Career Launch requires a high degree of professionalism, solid communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.Candidates must complete a successful intake and job shadow process to receive full program acceptance.
