HF Sinclair Parco Refining LLC in Sinclair, WY is seeking a Blending Specialist who oversees the function of gasoline blending and other finished products as needed. Interacts with pipeline and marketing to ensure lifting schedules are being met.

Job Duties

  • Using in depth knowledge to ensure quality and supply of all gasoline products are being met
  • Generates and publishes monthly blending forecasts, blending reports and giveaway reports
  • Monitors and manages gasoline blend stock inventories and changes blend recipes as needed to stay at working inventory levels
  • Works closely with Planner to optimize blending and with economics and technical services to improve LP versus Actual comparison for Stream Lab Data and Process Stream Meters
  • Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view
  • Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services
  • Leads others to solve complex problems
  • Acts as key support person to ensure refinery is in compliance with gasoline regulations
  • Assist as necessary to complete sulfur gasoline report
  • Acts as direct and regular liaison with Pipeline Operations for short- and mid-term pipeline scheduling
  • Plans all Finished Gasoline and Diesel Products movements and manages gasoline blend stocks inventories
  • Maintains running two week operating and product blending plan using production schedules balanced by constraints and product shipments
  • Evaluates and analyzes blending results and provides input for LP tuning and economic evaluations
  • Assist Yields Accounting as necessary for data accuracy around blending and blend meters May lead functional team or projects
  • Follow-through on commitments made to others


Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from timeto time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of on-the-job experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Engineeringor equivalent work experience required.

Required Skills

Subject matter expert in area of specialty. Ability to stay abreast of new technology developments and processes is essential. Strong knowledge of Microsoft products. Familiarity with standards and practices of the specific engineering discipline. A significant amount of knowledge related to gasoline blending and regulations related to gasoline specifications is essential. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Intermediate reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

None. Fills in for Manager IV, Oil Movements as needed.

Work Conditions

Office based with up to 5% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, and out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessel, tanks ,rotating equipment, and with the exposure to the risk of electrical shock. Subject to all temperatures, weather, and varying road conditions.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 30lbs, perceiving color differences, wearing personal protective equipment (beards not permitted), and strenuous physical activity.
