The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology, are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Pediatric Endocrinologist at the level of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Clinician Educator). The division is comprised of a dynamic group of 16 full-time faculty, 7 part-time physicians, 5 full-time PhD research faculty members, 5 nurse practitioners, an accredited fellowship program, and an incredible support staff including psychologists, diabetes educators, endocrine nurses, social workers, dietitians, physical therapists, and patient coordinators.

CHLA is a freestanding pediatric academic center and ranked by US News & World report as the top children's hospitals in California, #5 in the nation, and #1 one on the west coast. Our subspecialty program is top 10 in the country and #1 on the west coast. Our current hospital building opened in July 2011 and is equipped with 495 state-of-the-art inpatient beds and a large pediatric training program. CHLA serves a diverse patient and family population and has a significant advocacy role within the State of California. CHLA is proud to be the only pediatric program in the top 10 who cares for a predominately underserved population, and this mission shines in every person at CHLA.

Candidates should be clinically trained in pediatric endocrinology. The preferred candidate should have a broad exposure to and familiarity with the assessment of newborns, infants, and children in an inpatient setting, and also be familiar with general pediatric endocrinology outpatient concerns. Candidates should display excellent communication skills and a willingness to participate in the increasingly utilized team-based-care approach in a community setting.

This position will include night and weekend on-call responsibilities to be shared on a rotating basis. It is a requirement therefore to reside in the vicinity of the community supported by this practice, near Los Angeles County. Duties at the CHLA campus will include patient care and teaching activities and may include other academic pursuits as mutually agreed upon.

Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated scholarly, clinical, and teaching capabilities. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of California.

The annual base salary range for this position is $95,904-$325,712. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
