SUMMARY
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse and/or the Physician, is responsible for providing age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, educating patients and their families, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The LPN participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of health care services and tasks. The role of the LPN also includes patient advocacy, teaching, performance improvement, and supervision of unlicensed personnel.

RESPONSIBILITES:



  • Monitor and manage patient and physician electronic messages within scope of practice.





  • Collecting and documenting vital signs, allergies, medications, and review social history





  • Prepare exam rooms and assist with the management of the patient throughput





  • Schedule appointments, assist with providing social determinant of health resources, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals in coordinating care





  • Assist with in-office procedures to include set up, room turnover, minor time-out and support the surgeon within the scope of practice as needed





  • Perform evidence-based practice and quality improvement measures





  • Participate in emergency care, as directed by physician and/ or registered nurse as needed





  • Provides patient care ordered by practitioner; medication administration, point of care testing, dressing changes, specimen collections, staple and suture removals and IV insertion and documentation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse required





  • Current Georgia License as a Practical Nurse





  • Minimum of 1 years of healthcare experience





  • Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and decision-making skills





  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider Card required.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Healthcare experience in an ambulatory care setting





  • Experience in Specialty Care areas





  • Proficient with EMR systems such as EPIC





  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
