Job Description:

This individual will typically work under the direction of a licensed PE and be responsible for the geotechnical analysis and design of infrastructure projects including but not limited to roadways, railways, retaining walls, bridges, buildings, dams, levees, soil and rock slopes, asphalt and concrete pavements, etc. This individual will also: review boring logs, laboratory data and design plans for a variety of geotechnical tasks such as slope stability, settlement analysis, construction recommendations, etc.; work on shallow and deep foundation design, such as driven piles and drilled shafts, and also provide project specific analysis of liquefaction potential with seismic considerations, slide remediation, ground improvement, and others; prepare drawings, specifications, and foundation reports for geotechnical projects, and be expected to coordinate with project managers to implement measures to successfully meet all project goals and objectives. This position will be focus primarily on railroad projects. Travel will be required to perform project work on an as-needed basis


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics and familiarity with geotechnical engineering software (geostudios, ensoft, GRLWEAP, gINT)
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the United States on an as-needed basis

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Experience with MS Office, GIS, and CADD, as appropriate
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
