The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. The Department of Translational Genomics/Institute of Translational Genomics is seeking a Research Project interviewer to become part of our team. The successful candidate will interact with research participants, screen, schedule, interview participants, administer testing and data collection for the Oncology Research Information Exchange Network (ORIEN) project.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Complete research tasks related to sponsored project

  • Screen and interview potential participants, obtain necessary consent as necessary

  • Working knowledge regarding protocol related to human subject research highly preferred

  • Communicate with Principal Investigator, participants and other staff members

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time

  • Travel to other USC satellite facilities (Arcadia, Pasadena, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bilingual Spanish speaker is desired or preferred

  • Certified phlebotomist strongly encouraged to apply

Position is funded by a sponsored research project and will be a full time, fixed term position eligible for renewal based on availability of funds.

The annual base salary range for this position is $22.34 - $25.00 per hour. Minimum Education: High school or equivalent
Minimum Experience: 0 - 6 months
Minimum Field of Expertise: Knowledge of data collection procedures and some experience with data analysis. Excellent interpersonal skills needed for interaction with participants.
