The USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our faculty in a full-time, non-tenure track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. If you have a genuine passion for gerontology and a background in engineering, rehabilitation science, or a related field, we invite you to contribute to our cutting-edge research initiatives in applied technology and aging.

As a key member of our faculty, you will be expected to teach and develop a curriculum that aligns with the latest advancements in the field of applied technology and aging. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to teach effectively, possess experience in research related to the application of technology for the needs of older adults, and embrace the opportunity to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment. In addition, you will be expected to carry out independent research and administrative activities in addition to your role as an instructor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Gerontology, Engineering, Rehabilitation Science, or a related discipline, or a PhD/MD or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Experience and expertise in applied technology, and/or engineering.
  • Interest in the built environment, aging in place, and aging in the community.
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level.

The annual base salary ranges (for 9 months) are listed below and in accordance to rank:

  • Assistant Professor $74,000-$90,000
  • Associate Professor $80,000-$115,000
  • Professor $115,000-$140,000

Additional compensation may be warranted based on the administrative responsibilities assigned. The top candidate meeting the qualifications we seek will have the opportunity to serve and receive an administrative stipend for their role as Director of the Masters of Science in Applied Technology and Aging Program. Subject to change at the discretion of the Dean based on program and school needs.
