Job Description: Job Summary: The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) level II is responsible for practicing advanced level nursing to include conducting examinations, determining plans of care, and writing prescriptions. This is performed in the office, the HOPD, and the inpatient/outpatient hospital setting. The APRN II exercises autonomy in medical decision making, but within the auspices of the KBML Physician - APRN collaborative agreement. He or she is a user of all information systems involved in delivering care. He or she provides excellent customer service to patients and other co-workers, and maintains a high level of professionalism. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time. 1. Provides clinical assessment, medical decisions, and plans of care for patients in the office mainly, but will also support Have a Heart Clinic at Community events which could be on weekends or after hours. Provides for appropriate continuum of care with needed referrals and prescriptions. Follows up on patients as their condition requires. 2. Collaborates with physicians and other clinical staff to meet the needs of the patients seen in this setting. Appropriately, accurately, and thoroughly documents in the patient's medical record. 3. Participates in the process of billing for services in a manner that is compliant with all regulatory and accrediting bodies, as well as Baptist and Have a Heart Clinic policies. 4. Provides education sessions for family and support system regarding disease, treatment and supportive care. 5. Serves as a resource for clinical staff, patients, and their caregivers.
