About This Position

The KCN Operations Lead assists in the coordination of all KCN commissary shipments, orders and KCN functions at assigned warehouse facilities and/or commissary on-sites.

Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Assist management with training and scheduling Full-Time and Part-Time staff
  • Manage assigned aspects of on-site inventory control including ordering, receiving, stocking product, processing orders and commissary delivery
  • Complete required reporting
  • Document and inform KCN Management of all priority tasks and personnel problems
  • Know and understand all phases of shipping/commissary delivery in designated KCN facilities
  • Report any problems, discrepancies, issues to KCN Management in a timely manner with written documentation
  • Responsible for assisting with general upkeep of all KCN areas/equipment/products in a neat, clean, and orderly manner and maintain American Correctional Association & American Jail Association standards/guidelines when applicable
  • Take pride in your surroundings by helping maintain a clean workspace
  • Other duties as determined by the needs of the business

What You'll Need

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated tasks
  • Enforce all safety and quality processing procedures
  • Manufacture/rework products as necessary
  • Enable effective communications between management and team members
  • Evaluate new employees and coach existing employees
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with company policies
  • Investigate and report all incidents (accidents, poor performance, kit shortages, kitting errors, excessive performance gaps)
  • Suggest and implement cost-saving ideas
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough understanding of applicable Quality Control processes and procedures
  • Intimate operating knowledge of all available processing equipment such as crimp tools, hand knifes, tape machines and heat sealers.
  • Ability to motivate others to meet demands established by the schedule
  • In depth understanding of established Team Manufacturing values and customer service policies
  • Basic understanding of computers
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to be forklift certified within 6 months of employment
  • Good understanding of OSHA and FDA regulations
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of production line leadership experience REQUIRED
  • Familiar with Inventory and Cycle Counting processes REQUIRED

Physical Demands and Work Environment

    • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 50lbs
    • Must show proficiency in the operation of all necessary equipment within the department
    • Must be able to work in cold and hot climates
  • Ability to work: MONDAY - THURSDAY, 6 AM - 4:30 PM
