ECU Department of Student Life is currently seeking several Central Reservations Office (
CRO) Production Services Technicians. Student Technicians are part-time workers who assist and support the technical functions of the Student Centers, Wright Auditorium, and some outdoor space managed by the Central Reservations Office. A Student Technician may be directly supervised by a professional member of Production Services or the Central Reservations Office. Student Technicians are expected to fulfill the following general roles and responsibilities: * Administrator: Complete all necessary paperwork, forms, and tasks as required. Attend scheduled shifts and know the staff manual protocols. * Technical skill: Operate movie systems, simple portable sounds systems, outdoor sound systems, basic
LCD projectors, laptop set ups, and proper microphone setups. Set-up and operate theatre projection, sound, and lighting equipment. * Customer Service: Acknowledge and greet students, staff, faculty, and University guests. Be familiar with campus resources and departmental functions in which to best work with faculty, staff, students, and guests of the University; helping them to connect to resources as appropriate. Assist with navigating through campus and keep the supervisor informed. Help create a welcoming environment. Document incidents and follow protocols set out via training and staff manuals. Be knowledgeable of when situations are beyond the scope of Central Reservations Office Production Services Technicians. * Clerical Aid: Be able to enter data into a computer. File records, send emails, answer telephone calls, and relay messages to the appropriate contacts. Be able to operate common office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, calculators, fax machines, etc. * Security: Provide for the safety of patrons during events. Enforce facility policies and capacity. Deter theft. Be knowledgeable of emergency evacuation and lock down procedures. * University Representative: Serve as a positive role models. Provide for the needs of students, staff, faculty, and University guests. Be mindful of social media tags & posts. Represent Student Involvement and Leadership as well as East Carolina University positively. * Team Member: Attend all training sessions, support staff team, and assist them when needed. Maintain positive communication with staff and all Student Involvement and Leadership employees. Applicants should be enrolled as a student and be in good academic standing with East Carolina University; as well as local, state, and federal laws. Additionally, candidates must possess a minimum cumulative
GPA of 2.5. Students must attend mandatory training dates. |
