Registered Nurse:Cardiovascular, Thoracic Telemetry unit.

Unit Overview: 4G,Cardiovascular, Thoracic Telemetry unit. | $30,000 Sign-On Bonus for qualifying candidates

4G is a 20-bed Cardiovascular and Thoracictelemetry unitwith a purpose of providing excellent care and great quality outcomes to all patients through a multidisciplinary team approach. The unit specializes in serving adult and geriatric post operative cardiovascular/thoracic surgeries (CABG, AVR/MVR, Bronch/Thor, Fem-Pop, and other thoracic/vascular surgeries). The unit supports additional disciplinaries in Nephrology, Neurology, Cardiology, and Infectious Disease, providing care for complex patients with acute/chronic illness and multiple co-morbidities. The origin of access includes transfers from ICU, PACU, CVOU, ED, transfers from outlying facilities, and direct admits from physician offices.

Job Description:

  • The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as awhole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

  • Nursingpractices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies andprocedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.

  • As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/hertime (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provisionof nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities;provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning asapplicable, etc.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

  • Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.

  • Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.

  • Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and musthave achieved the degree within 5 years.

  • Basic life support

  • ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
