Responsibilities:
- Designing, coding, and debugging software (5%).
- Improving the performance of existing software (5%).
- Maintaining and upgrading existing software (5%).
- Supervising and overseeing the technical aspects of projects (5%).
- Regularly attending team meetings to discuss projects, brainstorm ideas, and put forward solutions to any issues (10%).
- Be a catalyst for Application Architects, Systems Engineers, DevOps/SRE and all roles to evaluate and deliver engineering efforts across Morningstar (5%).
- Advocate/enforce best practices for performance, reliability, scalability, security, and reusability at a global scale (5%).
- With Technical knowledge and the CMBS and RMBS knowledge, provide the technical Leadership for multiple teams and guiding them in day-to-day development areas (10%).
- Work on Architectural design and system planning, cross functional communication for the best implementation of the systems from technical standpoint as he knows technology as well as business needs (10%).
- Enforce coding standards and best practices across the teams (10%).
- Guide DevOps activities and implement best practices for the best operation of product (10%).
- Make infrastructure related decision making for the new implementations in the product (10%).
- Setting up the deployment pipeline for smooth and frequent production deployments (5%).
- Supervise the infrastructure related costs and intervene to reduce the costs (5%).

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a technology-related field or foreign equivalent and 8 years of software engineering experience in Lead, Principal, Senior, Associate Software Engineering or related position.
- This position also requires: experience developing commercial quality software products and solutions particularly focused on distributed and real-time systems; experience with Credit Rating Industry, mostly commercial mortgage back securities, Residential mortgage back securities; experience with a variety of technology components and stacks, including Python, Java, Ruby, C#, or Bash, javascript frameworks; experience with AWS cloud platforms and SaaS architectures; experience with DevOps; experience building complex web systems; experience with performance, reliability, scalability, security, and reusability tactics and strategies; experience defining, refining, and maintaining application architectures for sophisticated end-user software products; experience in agile development practices including scrum and scaled agile; and experience with troubleshooting and debugging skills.
