Job Description Summary

#TeamAAM is looking for a Quality/Heat Treat Coordinator to join our team in Fort Wayne, IN.

Main responsibilities include coordinating control plans, inspection systems, and action plans to achieve expected results. Leads, mentors and develops team members to promote quality awareness and implement quality programs and initiatives. Ensures the execution of non-conformances, containment, and corrective actions and metrics. Responsible to provide ongoing metallurgical analysis and physical test results for production process control, product quality assurance, and provides product and material analysis.

Job Description

  • Assures materials meet established criteria and reports exceptions
  • Oversee the operation of Metallurgical laboratory equipment to perform sample evaluations
  • Conduct Appropriate testing using the application of measurement system analysis (MSA)
  • Advises management by summarizing data; preparing reports; explaining proposals; counseling managers.
  • Prepares quality improvement team members by identifying training needs; training employees in analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Resolves quality issues by identifying problems; examining solution options; implementing action plans; providing resources.
  • Maintaining and developing standard operating procedures and work instructions
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • B.S. degree in metallurgy or mechanical engineering or equivalent training required.
  • 2 - 5 years work experience in metallurgy preferred
  • Experience in FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, CQI-9 and SPC.
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of communication skills to work effectively with others, empower employees, and increase work output.
  • Thorough understanding of Quality Systems (ISO/TS 16949).
  • Knowledge of process conformance audits.
  • Experience with push-style furnaces
