Job Description:

Unit Overview: 6B,Medical-Surgical-Telemetry unit.

6B is a 23-bed med/surg/telemetry unit. This unit specializes in post-cardiac intervention, medical cardiology, chemotherapy, continuous EEG, and post-procedural patients. Staff receive specialized training for post-catheterization and Tikosyninitiation/administration.This population has multiple co-morbidities and complex care.

Shift: Part-Time, Nights

Job Description:

Under the direction of Unit Director, Clinical House Supervisor, +/or Designee, provides supervision of workflow and staff for a designated shift in overseeing the efficient functioning of the department.

  • Assures the provision of patient care, by addressing performance, risk management, patient, family and physician issues/concerns as appropriate. Role models caring behaviors in relationships with others.

  • As a clinical nurse, the charge nurse spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through:

    • Provision of nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments

    • Facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education

    • Care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

  • Active Kentucky RN license

  • BLS, ACLS and/or other designated unit specific certification training/requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or currently actively pursuing a BSN degree. (BSN degree must be completed within 5 years of starting program)

  • Minimum of one year of Registered Nurse experience
