POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Red Peak Technical Services, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has an exciting opportunity for aSr. Telecommunications Mechanicsupporting a Norco, CA-based government contract. This is a full-time, client-site position. TheSr. Telecommunications Mechanic will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the customer's Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone system, including installing and maintaining infrastructure (wiring) and providing technical support for end users.

Core responsibilities will include:



  • Checking the daily ticket log, taking actions to resolve any tickets, and closing out the ticket in the system.
  • Providing daily technical support for the customer's unclassified VoIP endpoint devices.
  • Ensuring that all telecommunications configurations meet required security and continuity guidelines.
  • Ensuring all installation and maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with industry best practices, BICSI methodologies, standards, and codes.


Additional duties may include:



  • Conducting site surveys to plan and coordinate new and upgraded cabling and telecommunications equipment for large and complex systems.
  • Identifying and updating the locations of all IT infrastructure drops on provided floor plans, to include labeling all jack locations identified using provided specifications.
  • Identifying the location of both sides of all IT infrastructure drops, to include both the work area outlet and the communication room/patch panel.


This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.

Pay rate:$100,000 to $129,000 Annually

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • United States citizenship
  • Active DoD Security Clearance (Secret or higher)
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline - additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirement (minimum 10 years)
  • One or more of the following Cisco (OEM) IT certifications:

    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Enterprise
    • Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Networking


  • At least seven (7) years of relevant Cisco VoIP technical support experience; advanced ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to the functionality of Cisco IP Telephony
  • At least three (3) years of experience overseeing the day-to-day operations of a VoIP telephone system, including installation of VoIP infrastructure (wiring)
  • At least two (2) years of experience providing telecommunications system support in an enterprise network-level environment using CISCO routers, switches, ISE, and ASA firewalls
  • Commitment to outstanding customer service


Additional Desired Qualifications:



  • One or more of the following certifications:

    • BICSI Installer 1 (INST1) Certificate
    • BICSI Installer 2, Copper (INSTC) Certification
    • BICSI Installer 2, Optical Fiber (INSTF) Certification
