Job Description

The IT Procurement Manager within the Vendor Management Office (VMO) is responsible for managing the procurement and vendor management processes for IT products and services. This role focuses on ensuring that the organization obtains high-quality IT resources at competitive prices while fostering strong relationships with vendors. The IT Procurement Manager collaborates with various departments to understand their needs, negotiate contracts, and ensure that vendors deliver as agreed.

Procurement Strategy Development

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for IT products and services.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and trends.
  • Establish procurement policies and procedures to ensure best practices and compliance with company standards.

Vendor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and select vendors based on cost, quality, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with vendors.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key vendors to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery and cost-efficiency.

Procurement Operations

  • Oversee the entire procurement process from requisition to delivery.
  • Ensure that procurement activities are compliant with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage the procurement budget, track expenses, and report on cost savings.

Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT procurement and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans for supply chain disruptions.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with IT, finance, and other departments to understand and meet their procurement needs.
  • Provide regular updates on procurement activities, performance, and vendor status to senior management.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to manage purchase orders, invoices, and payments.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track and report key performance metrics related to procurement and vendor management.
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and develop improvement plans.
  • Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in procurement and vendor management.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance procurement efficiency.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in procurement and vendor management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in IT procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
