Employer Engagement Specialist - Bilingual Preferred (Opportunity Center) Onsite

Company Description

Serves as a support to the young adult program by cultivating and maintaining relationships with employers to create job opportunities for our youth participants. This role requires a proactive and dedicated individual who can effectively advocate for the employment of opportunity youth and provide exceptional support to our employer partners.. Provides follow-up with job seekers regarding the result of a referral. Data enters all services according to policies and procedures accurately and in real time as service is provided to the job seeker in the appropriate systems (WIT, etc.)

Job Description

* Reviews job seeker skills prior to referring job seeker to employment opportunities.

* Proactively identify and engage potential employers across various industries to secure job and internship opportunities for program participants.

* Develops and maintains strong, long-term relationships with existing employer partners to ensure continued collaboration and job placements.

* Identify employment opportunities for enrolled participants with minimal skills, criminal backgrounds, and/or other barriers and schedules interviews.

* Conduct site visits to employer locations to assess suitability and ensure they meet the requirements for our youth participants.

* Stay informed about labor market trends and emerging industries to identify new partnership opportunities.

* Enter case related data into and WIT on a regular basis.

* Develops contract agreements with area employers to participate in Subsidized Employment.

* Organize and participate in employer engagement events such as job fairs, networking events, and workshops to promote the benefits of hiring opportunity youth.

* Track and report on employer engagement activities, including job placements, employer satisfaction, and participant success stories.

* Meets on a regular basis with one-stop centers regarding program participants for employment placement.

* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Social Work, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in employer engagement, workforce development, sales, or a related field.

* Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

* Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.

* Understanding of the challenges and opportunities related to youth employment.

* Passion for youth development and commitment to the mission of the organization.

* Demonstrated customer service skills.

* Track and report on employer engagement activities, including job placements, employer satisfaction, and participant success stories.

* Should have a considerable skill in interviewing techniques and good knowledge of all functions of industry clusters.

* Familiarity with communities being served with knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources.

* Demonstrated knowledge of labor market trends.

* Demonstrated computer skills, with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software programs.

* Demonstrated performance in placing program participants into employment.

* Ability to meet and/or exceed set goals and objectives.

* Demonstrated experience in communicating with area employers.

* A valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance that meets the State of TX requirements.

* Knows the Dallas Area or can get to destinations using maps/GPS.

Additional Information

Work Requirements: Extensive standing, sitting, computer, phone, and deskwork required; some kneeling and lifting of up to 10 pounds required; work primarily in a defined office environment with specified hours, although flexible hours including overtime may be required; interacts one on one and in groups with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.
