JOB MISSION:
As a member of the Apparel Sample Room, the Sample Technician II will play a critical role constructing samples across diverse product types using a variety of industrial equipment. Pride in producing high quality garments that meet the brand standards and expectations. This is an on-site position, five days a week.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITES:
* Follows priorities and direction from the Manufacturing lead, while meeting expected deadline and quality.
* Responsible for end-to-end garment assembly - from cut pieces to finished sample.
* Proactively studies the tech pack for all details. Documents any sample discrepancies, deviations, or suggestions on paperwork.
* Report any machine malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to the Manufacturing lead.
* Identify continuous improvement opportunities in process, product, and equipment.
* Ability to identify potential problems that may affect prototyping or production difficulties, including material challenges, pattern issues, stitching difficulties & any construction problems found during the creating of the prototype.
* Complete all projects on time while maintaining specs and quality requirements.
* Ability to flex and pivot with ease when urgent projects surface.
* Clean the machines to ensure proper functioning when needed
* Maintain a clean and organized shared workspace.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
* 8+ years experience in Apparel Sample making with a strong level of expertise in garment construction.
* Expert using industrial sewing machines: coverstitch, lockstitch, flatlock, bartack, multi-needle, etc. Experience with hi-tech equipment is a plus (seam sealing, ultrasonic)
* Experience sewing spandex/stretch fabrics is a plus
* Strong ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Learn how to follow English written tech sketches to create the garment prototype.
* Familiar with OSHA requirements
* Ability to sit for periods of time with continuous movements of hands, arms & fingers while sewing
* Able to lift 30lbs on occasion (fabric rolls)

Flexible Work Schedule

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
