Overview
Our Energy Group is seeking a Turbine Control Subject Matter Expert (SME) with hands-on experience in gas and steam turbine control systems across power generation facilities. The SME will lead technical evaluations, upgrades, design, and troubleshooting of turbine controls, ensuring successful project delivery and customer satisfaction through oversight and resource management. Additionally, the SME will mentor engineers in I&C and Electrical Engineering principles to foster growth within the team. This position can be located in one of the following locations or possibly remote for the right candidate:

- Tampa, FL
- Kennesaw, GA
- Birmingham, AL
- Chattanooga , TN
Responsibilities
A typical day involves providing technical direction and solving complex problems related to turbine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades, while collaborating with multi-discipline engineers on design packages and specifications. You'll act as the internal expert for turbine controls, ensuring systems meet customer requirements, managing site support with Project Managers, and participating in project reviews to ensure successful project execution.
- Technical Leadership and Problem Solving: Provide expert direction in troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades of turbine equipment and power facilities, solving complex technical challenges to optimize system performance
- Design, Specifications, and Documentation: Prepare specifications, statements of work, and cost estimates for turbine generators and related systems, delivering engineering and design packages that align with client requirements. Provide technical documentation as needed
- Project Coordination and Support: Serve as the internal technical point of contact for turbine controls, collaborating with multi-discipline engineers and coordinating site support with Project Managers. Participate in project reviews and milestone meetings to ensure successful execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Proven work history designing, maintaining, specifying, or otherwise working with utility scale power producing facilities, specifically gas and steam turbine control systems
- Working efficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required
- Experience in gas and steam turbine control systems
- Extensive knowledge of industry standard control system communication protocols
- Willing to travel 25%-50% of the time which would include fieldwork; duration may vary depending on project and client needs
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Experience with NERC CIP requirements
- Experience in multiple turbine control systems across different manufacturers
