STV is seeking aWater/Wastewater Pipeline Engineering Specialist (EIT)for our Water Practice Group in either Forth Worth or Dallas, TX. You'll provide the ability to contribute immediately to Water and Wastewater (W/WW) project development and execution of varying sizes as part of a growing office.

As a Pipeline Engineer, you'll perform project design engineering, project design staff oversight, quality control, project management, client development, proposal preparation and sales pursuits for W/WW treatment plant and conveyance projects in Texas. You'll have a strong understanding of principles and theories of water hydraulics, pipeline mechanics and materials, operation and control, and installation means and methods. You'll be responsible for performing all aspects of facility engineering. In this position, you'll work under the supervision of the Dallas Water Group Manager. Familiarity with and/or the ability and desire to use modeling and production tools, such as InfoWater orInfoWorks ICM and/or WaterGems and WaterCAD are a plus.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects as well as the development of probable construction cost estimates for his/her projects withing the department.
  • Attends client meetings days or nights.
  • Analyzes reporting, maps drawings, blueprints tests and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project.
  • Prepares design computations and quantity estimates.
  • Prepares and/or modifies reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for various projects.
  • Instructs draft person/technicians to develop designs into working contract drawings.
  • Performs occasional drafting, primarily in CAD drafting software.
  • Reviews construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
  • Serves as onsite project representative.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Responsible for job specific and/or assigned project team quality system tasks, as defined in the quality manual and/or the Project Implementation Plan.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another related field of study.
  • EIT certification.
  • Experience working on small diameter (less than 24")and/or large diameter (24" up to 108") water and sewer pipelines is preferred but not required.
  • The ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. You will also need to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals and effectively present the information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Experience with pipeline hydraulics and modeling experience with InfoWater or InfoWorks ICM and/or WaterGems. WaterCAD are preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrable experience in the design of W/WW infrastructure: planning, design and construction of potable water and wastewater conveyance design.
  • Experience working with local municipalities and utility companies.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the following skills: leadership, oral and written communication, planning, teamwork, decision making, judgment and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of scheduling, spreadsheet, document, and database software.

Compensation Range:

$55,690.00 - $74,254.00
