Description

Two NIH-funded postdoctoral positions in Theoretical and Computational Biological Physics are available in the Banerjee Group at the Physics Department of Carnegie Mellon University, with a flexible start date. The candidates should have experience in theoretical and computational modelling of biological systems, soft matter or statistical physics

There is flexibility in the exact topic of research. Current research interests of the group ranges from modelling the physics of intracellular organization, to single-cell biophysics and collective dynamics in multicellular systems. Prospective candidates are encouraged to browse through recent publications from the group. Potential projects include physics of bacterial growth and cell division, cytoskeleton dynamics in cells, tissue mechanics and pattern formation in development.

The successful candidates will work with the theory group of Prof. Shiladitya Banerjee, and in close collaborations with experimental laboratories both locally within CMU and around the world.

These positions are available for one year in the first instance, and renewable for up to five years based upon mutual agreement and satisfactory performance. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a full benefits package.
