Description

Carnegie Mellon University seeks an Associate Teaching Professor within the School of Computer Science/Software and Societal Systems Department in Pittsburgh, PA, responsible for designing and delivering our Master of Software Engineering (MSE) Programs, which includes teaching courses in Software Engineering as well as curriculum development. Specific duties include: (i) lecturing, advising, and mentoring students; (ii) serving as the Associate Director of MSE for Executive Education and Corporate Engagement, including leading the strategy and educational engagements with public, private, and governmental organizations to meet emerging needs for software engineering education; (iii) defining, scoping, and directing these external education engagements; and (iv) interfacing with the Corporate and Alumni Relations Manager to leverage the MSE Program's 1,200 person alumni network, as well as the MSE Online program, which is targeting working professionals within the U.S

Must have 10 years of experience in the software engineering field. Alternate requirement: PhD in Software Engineering or a directly related field.

Must have experience with each of the following: (i) DevOps; (ii) continuous integration, quality assurance, and scalable software systems; (iii) modern software engineering practices; (iv) API Design; and (v) Software Architecture.

Must also have a background of demonstrated excellence and dedication to mentoring and teaching.
