STV currently has an opening in any of our Carolinas offices for aTraffic Engineering Team Leaderfor our Transportation division. You will serve as integral component of the STV traffic engineering team and collaborate with our staff to deliver traffic engineering services. The position will assist the Traffic Engineering Director in maintaining project schedules, assisting in resource allocation, and ensuring project deliverables are developed within the allocated budget all while providing technical expertise and supervising/mentoring junior staff. Traffic services may include but are not limited to traffic forecasting, capacity analysis, traffic impact studies, safety analyses, signing and pavement marking design, signal design, signal communication design, signal timing, and ITS projects.

There is plenty of growth potential for this position, and there is a variety of projects to work on including, highway and interchange design, roadway widenings, intersection improvements including innovative intersections, and bicycle/pedestrian improvements in multiple geographies across STV's South/Central Region. Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as team leader to ensure accurate and delivery traffic operations tasks for various Departments of Transportation, Counties, Municipalities, and other private development entities
  • Assist the Traffic Engineering Director in strategic planning, resource allocation, maintenance of deliverable schedules, and ensure adherence to project budgets
  • Coordinating with the design team to develop quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget
  • ProvideQA/QC for various traffic engineering deliverables
  • Assisting with the development of specifications, cost estimates, reports and preparing final bid packages
  • Establishing working relationships and interfacing with clients and project managers
  • Train and direct staff Assisting with the preparation of technical and cost proposals
  • Provide assistance in RFP responses and supply input on strategic planning in pursuit of future projects

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience required
  • NC Professional Engineer (PE) license is required Ability to obtain PE licensure in multiple states. SC, TN, and GA are preferred
  • Strong background working with NCDOT/SCDOT and local NC/SC municipalities is desired

Compensation Range:

$116,960.00 - $155,946.00
