Essential Job Duties |
The Program Associate is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of agriculture-based educational programs targeted at youth. This role focuses on fostering an interest in agriculture, promoting sustainable practices, and providing hands-on learning experiences. The Program Associate will work closely with Extension Agents, community organizations, volunteers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality programming that meets the needs of the community.
1 - Program Development and Implementation
- Design, develop, and implement agriculture-based educational programs for youth.
- Create curriculum and lesson plans that align with educational standards and promote agricultural literacy.
- Organize and lead workshops, field trips, and hands-on activities in various agricultural settings.
2 - Community Engagement and Partnership Building:
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and agricultural entities.
- Act as a liaison between the organization and community partners to promote program awareness and participation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify community needs and opportunities for program growth.
3 - Program Evaluation and Reporting
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of youth agriculture programs.
- Collect and analyze data to assess program outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on program activities, achievements, and challenges.
4 - Resource Management
- Develop and manage program budgets in collaboration with the Program Manager.
- Source and manage materials and resources needed for program activities.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants and sponsorships, to support program sustainability.

Minimum Experience/Education |
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture, education, youth development OR a related field

- Must have knowledge and experience in horticulture, agronomy, soils, ag education, education)
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in program development and implementation, preferably in agriculture or education setting
- Must be willing to work irregular and late hours
- Must have experience working with diverse audiences
