Position Overview
Essential Job Duties |
The postdoc scholar will help to develop parallel computational techniques and pilot them by developing and quantifying the probabilistic risk assessment models using traditional and dynamic techniques. The postdoc will help mentor graduate students and support them in their analyses, publications, and teaching efforts.
The postdoc will conduct Probability Risk Assessment (
PRA) studies Risk Assessment studies, prepare manuscripts, support proposals, and Probabilistic Risk Assessment courses and workshops. The postdoc is expected to lead at least two journal publications per year.

Other Work/Responsibilities |
The postdoc will be expected to work collaboratively with Dr. Diaconeasa and other group members and will meet weekly to discuss research progress and outcomes, as well as best practices in manuscript preparation, mentoring, and grant writing. |

Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering with a focus on Probabilistic Risk Assessment methods. Experience with previous Probabilistic Risk Assessment studies involving light water reactors is required. Experience with previous Probabilistic Risk Assessment studies involving high temperature gas reactors is preferred. |
