Essential Job Duties |
This position's primary function is to serve as support for the Zone Manager in the overall operations of the zone.
These operations include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting and performing housekeeping services
- Leading projects such as power washing entrances, window washing, waxing floors, relamping, fixtures and dispensers, customer relations, etc., training and transportation of staff, and the delivery of supplies to staff
- Serves as next-in-command in the absence of the Zone Manager
- Provides support for all housekeeping tasks and performs other housekeeping related tasks
- The position is also responsible in assisting and performing inspections of fixtures, equipment, and to determine cleanliness of areas
- Reports discrepancies found within the buildings, in addition to responding to emergencies and inclement weather
- This position will use standard housekeeping equipment such as auto-scrubbers, burnishers, and power washers in addition to performing minor repairs on these and other small equipment

Other Responsibilities |
- This position has been designated as essential personnel for the University and may be required to report to work during adverse weather conditions even though the University may be operating on an alternate schedule
- This position may assist with snow and ice removal under the direction of a supervisor
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education |
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special certification may be required for some of these positions. |
Other Required Qualifications |
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds continuously and 90 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to use standard housekeeping equipment such as auto-scrubbers, burnishers, and power washers in addition to performing minor repairs on these and other small equipment
- Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and the general public
- Must be able to follow instructions and other communications regarding assignments and other matters
- May aid in snow removal as directed by supervisors

- Experience performing housekeeping duties in a university or commercial environment

- Valid driver's license required
- Must be able to obtain a valid NC driver's license within 60 days of hire and it must be maintained
