Position Description

The Field Controls Technician V is the highest level of individual contributor for technicians, specializing in expert-level install, commissioning, and troubleshooting of BMS, PMS, and critical cooling systems. This role involves independent oversight, advanced problem-solving, and technical consulting for customer projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex controls install and commissioning, maintenance, and diagnostics projects with complete independence.
  • Act as a technical advisor for large-scale projects, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Engage directly with customers for high-stakes problem-solving and support.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to all technician levels.
  • Experience of BMS/DCIM, and common communication protocols such as Modbus and BACnet is preferred.
  • Field experience with DDC controllers.
  • Field experience of Tridium Niagra 4 software and Jace controllers.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven leadership and coaching ability for development within aftermarket team
  • High proficiency in customer service and communication
