Position Description

The Infrastructure Engineer II will have direct responsibility for supporting and managing all aspects of the Windows Server platform including production support and strategy development. This position works within the Infrastructure & Operations team of Corporate IT and is the principal technical authority providing support for enterprise services. Duties include formulation of system requirements and design alternatives; platform architecture planning, installation, maintenance, problem resolution, security, and system monitoring. Person in this position will be providing leadership to other team members in performing tasks associated with installation, maintenance and support of Windows servers and applications. The primary emphasis of this position is on Modine's enterprise environment including Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange along with other Microsoft 365 offerings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development of corporate-wide short and long-range server, desktop, and messaging strategies
  • Provide server support to Modine facilities globally
  • Develop process and procedure standards and documentation
  • As an Cherwell IT Service Management (ITSM) team lead, provide technical guidance and support to other team members as well as addressing requests and issues in assigned team queues
  • Lifecycle management for servers (physical and virtual) running the Windows operating system
  • Document and communicate system enhancements or changes utilizing formal change management system
  • Manage and support both cloud based and on-premise Microsoft Exchange environment
  • Use Commvault and related technologies to back up and restore files
  • Perform user management tasks such as creating accounts, changing passwords, etc.
  • Analyze and respond to output from server monitoring systems
  • Manage installation and configuration of Genetec Security Center
  • In conjunction with Global IT Security, maintain and secure Modine's messaging environment using SPF and DMARC, as well as message filtering and vulnerability scanning using Proofpoint
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of network printing solutions
  • Participate in 7x24x365 support for the Windows Servers as necessary, some late night and weekend work will be required
  • Manage and support Dell Open Manage Enterprise (OME) ecosystem
Required Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Math or Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience working with enterprise infrastructure technologies in a lead technologist role
  • Strong knowledge of the Windows Server operating system. 2+ years of experience managing enterprise Windows platform, including software, systems and applications
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Microsoft products such as AD, Exchange, IIS and SQL
  • Demonstrated ability to design, specify, install, manage and maintain enterprise server infrastructure in a Windows environment
  • Knowledge of best practices, standards and policies in operating and securing windows servers
  • Knowledge of best practices in physical and virtual hardware platforms for the Windows Operating System
  • Knowledge, skills and experience with programming and scripting languages such Windows PowerShell
  • Demonstrated ability to automate data collection, interpretation and routine system administration tasks through the use of scripting
  • Strong knowledge of network communication protocols and practices including TCP/IP, HTTP and SSL/TLS, SSH, SMTP
  • Strong familiarity with LDAP, DHCP, DNS
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience giving technical presentations or training
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a service oriented mindset
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a strong willingness to participate and help others
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, demonstrated ability to work closely with global IT team members
