In this role, you will have a critical support role in our Advanced Thermal Systems team, as we work closely with our customers to define the future of commercial electric vehicles. You will manage the Manufacturing Engineering team in support of our Advanced Thermal Systems business. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager position is based out of our Lawrenceburg, TN manufacturing plant supporting our Advanced Thermal Systems business serving Bus, Truck, Specialty Vehicle and Last Mile Delivery. Responsibilities span from oversight and development of manufacturing engineering team, successful launch of multiple new programs and products, process optimization, capacity planning and CapEx management.

  • Test Engineer/Maintenance
  • New Product Engineer

Manufacturing Engineering Manager reports to the Advanced Thermal Systems Business Unit Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety leadership and culture development
  • Owner of the production process, its design, control, and optimization
  • Engages with cross functional teams to drive solutions and improvements
  • Application of 80-20 principles to simplify, focus, and improve the business

  • Application of 80-20 principles to simplify, focus, and improve the business
  • Drive a culture of improvement using CI/Lean leadership principles. Application of various lean tools including Kaizen, 5S, TPM, Kata, and others as appropriate.
  • Participate in Daily Management by asking questions, assigning responsibilities, and facilitating problem solving.
  • Perform and supervise Problem Solving activities (8D, A3, or others)
  • Capacity and resource planning
  • Lead the improvements in documentation of current and new processes
  • Develop, plan, and maintain plant budget for capital expenditures
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control
  • Ensures New Product Launches on time within budget, support and lead prototype builds within timing.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3 years in a direct management position with multiple direct reports
  • Experience applying lean manufacturing concepts
  • History of continuous improvement responsibility with measurable results.
  • Experience with electrical and/or refrigeration systems highly preferred
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, effective communicator at all organizational levels.
  • Highly organized, good attention to detail, capable of multi-tasking and following through on tasks to completion.
  • Possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal), able to interact with all stakeholders and act as a professional representative of the corporation.
  • Eagerness to operate in a dynamic fast paced environment with an ability to drive change.
  • Experience transitioning products from prototype to production
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
