Position Overview
Essential Job Duties |
This Postdoctoral Research Scholar will work in the Translational Plant Phenomics program and work to advance the application of remote sensing, robotics, and data science in breeding and producing crops with an emphasis on horticultural and specialty crops. This position will write publications, and engage with the transdisciplinary team at Plant Science Initiative, and mentor graduate students. The Postdoc will also disseminate reserach findings.

Department Required Skills |
- Ph.D. in agricultural engineering, environmental science, plant breeding, agronomy, horticulture, and crop science with emphasis on data analytics, high-throughput phenotyping, or precision agriculture.
- Demonstrated skills in scientific writing and effective communication in both verbal and written formats.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education |
- Experience in processing and analyzing images (RGB, multispectral, thermal, and hyperspectral) from one or more platforms (ground, aerial, satellite), and predicting crop performance using machine learning algorithms.
- Experience in developing and implementing precision agriculture related technologies.
- Strong programming skills in R or python are highly desirable.
