Essential Job Duties |
Coverage is needed in a 24/7 operating hospital primarly during overnight emergency hours. Responsibilities include ambulatory emergency workup and hourly treatments, including but not limited to catheter placement, venipuncture, nasogastric tube placement, drug calculations, controlled drug monitoring, patient monitoring, medical documentation, and sample submission. |

Minimum Experience/Education |
Completion of an accredited training program in the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Extensive equine or farm animal handling experience. Previious experience as an assistant in an equine/farm animal veterinary setting. |

Veterinary technical skills. Ability to work around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, gas anesthetics, zoonotic disease, and unpleasant odors.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively at all times na maintain professionalish in emotionally charged situations.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work effectively as a team member, work effectively with computers and software navigation, and work independently. |
