The position is located at ourMarkham, WAManufacturing Facility. Relocation assistance eligible.

We are looking for a dynamic, creative, collaborative and results driven Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager. This individual will provide leadership in the development and implementation of management systems necessary to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements affecting the plant and to evaluate and ensure their effectiveness over time. Additionally, this individual will provide leadership of corporate-wide projects and initiatives intended to advance and support the environmental, health and safety policy and priorities.

A day in the life of a Plant EHS Manager:

  • Lead EHS at the facility, including goal setting, prioritizing facility safety and compliance needs, capital and operating expenses related to EHS, and establishing adequate systems for tracking results and continuous improvement.
  • Influences all staff to report safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate immediate corrective actions.
  • Engage with employees to have them participate at a high level and be active participants in our safety culture.
  • Identify and leverage best practices by collaborating across the EHS network.
  • Be an active, supportive, inclusive member of the plant leadership team.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, aligned with Ocean Spray EHS standards.
  • Coordinate and support environmental compliance activities, such as emissions control, waste disposal, wastewater treatment, etc.
  • Oversee the facility incident investigation process to ensure incidents are reported in a timely manner, investigations are conducted properly, root causes are identified, and corrective actions re-tracked to closure.
  • Maintain records, data, and other EHS related information necessary to satisfy legislative and company requirements.
  • Assumes responsibilities as designated to provide coverage in the absence of key personnel.

What you need to know:

  • Bachelor's degree required or an equivalent of 5 - 7 working experience in the safety field with the management of people.
  • Experience working with VPP or SHARP Site is preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
  • Applicability of EHS laws and regulations
  • Knowledge and experience with wastewater management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent understanding of manufacturing operations.
  • Strong ability to influence, provide leadership, work in a team environment or independently.
  • Able to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Good facilitation/training skills.
  • Excellent follow up/follow through skills.

$102,200 - $140,500

The base salary range information above serves as a guideline of the position's typical hiring range.
