Position Highlights The HUman Building Synergy (HUBS) lab seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate who is ambitious about original, applied research on Smart & Integrative Buildings, Human Building Interaction and Cyber-Physical Systems. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible research-focused position. the ideal applicant would be capable of writing grant proposals and conducting/leading original research.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead a research project by scientifically
    addressing intriguing and significant research questions and delivering project
    objectives with resources.
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate research
    assistants in various ways, such as supporting knowledge acquisition, data
    analyses, and paper writing.
  • Prepare, coordinate, submit grant proposals/scope
    of work to acquire research funding.
  • Write project reports and peer-reviewed journal
    articles.
  • Conduct outreach activities, but not limited to,
    presenting research outcomes at local and national conferences.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work efficiently
    individually and in collaborative settings
  • Knowledge of the state of the art
    in Artificial Intelligence in Buildings/Built Environments
  • Skill in leading research
    activities amongst groups of people
  • Ability to communicate effectively
    and present research at national and international conferences
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD degree in
    Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or
    other related fields.
  • Selected
    candidate must have Ph.D. conferred upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in leading research activities amongst groups of people and publication of scientific papers
  • Experience in grant proposal writing
  • Experience in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students
  • Experience in presenting research at national and international conferences
