Under the supervision of the Director of CATalyst Studios, within the Student Learning & Engagement Department (SLE), the Business Research & Experiential Learning Librarian will provide information services to the Eller College of Management and McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship's dynamic and diverse group of faculty, students, residents, and fellows. In addition to supporting the Eller College of Management, this position will be a member of the CATalyst Studios Experiential Learning Team. This role emphasizes specialized instruction and research support, experiential learning curriculum development, and a strong understanding of best practices in library and technology pedagogy to the University of Arizona campus. The Business Research & Experiential Learning Librarian will engage business faculty and instructors to integrate and scaffold information, digital, and data literacies into their curriculum. Additionally, they will support faculty and graduate students in their research and collaborate with colleagues across the libraries to meet evolving needs. As a member of the Experiential Learning team, this position will collaborate on the development of compelling experiential learning opportunities, both within and outside the makerspace, that incorporate maker competencies for a wide variety of disciplinary users. They will help assess and investigate emerging technologies for integration into learning and teaching efforts and they will collaborate with SLE colleagues along with other Libraries departments to build new processes, partnerships, and connections to expand the impact of our experiential learning spaces and instruction program. This is a continuing-eligible or continuing status track, academic professional position. Duties & Responsibilities |
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES
- Support
Eller College of Management and McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship by acting as point of contact for faculty, students, and staff in assigned subject areas. - Provide
virtual, group, and one-on-one consultations for undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty engaged in making in a variety of academic disciplines. - Develop
and deliver effective and efficient instructional services in the areas of business and entrepreneurship, providing students with active and assessable learning opportunities through faculty partnerships and the development of in-class or train-the-trainer sessions, online tutorials or guides, course assignments, or other appropriate learning activities. - Support
hands-on, project-based, and interest-driven learning in CATalyst Studios through course integration with faculty and instructors. - Seek
out and pursue opportunities where the library can facilitate greater research or instructional productivity, or improve student learning, by inserting new or existing services into the teaching, learning, or research workflows. - Support the Libraries and UA's
diversity and inclusiveness strategic initiativesdesigned to create an inclusive environment for all faculty, staff, and students. - Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships and partnerships
with faculty, staff, and administrators in the Eller School of Management and across campus. - Knowledge of experiential learning, with emphasis on its
incorporation into management disciplines and academic makerspaces. - Ability to assess needs and provide
point-of-need assistance referrals to appropriate expert services within the libraries. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. - Ability to work in a highly collaborative and inclusive environment, one
that values and leverages the benefits of diverse perspectives. - Demonstrated commitment to continual

Minimum Qualifications |
- Master's degree in library/information
science from an ALA-accredited institution or other relevant advanced degree. - Experience providing instruction, reference,
research consultation services, or workshops. - Experience using business resources in
research. - Evidence of the ability to achieve
continuing status (equivalent to tenure), including to the information/library profession and to fulfilling the responsibilities of a library faculty member through service and scholarship.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience with maker literacies/competencies or emerging technology (including, but not limited to: virtual and augmented reality, fabrication, data visualization, audio-visual production, etc.) as they contribute to the needs of students and researchers.
- Experience utilizing experiential learning theories and knowledge of their implementation in higher education and academic libraries.
- Experience incorporating information literacies into the curriculum through varying modalities, including digital learning objects.
- Experience with issues of intellectual property including patents, copyright, and open scholarship.
- Experience developing, marketing, managing, and assessing learning programs and outreach activities.
