Position Highlights The Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (AME) is seeking applicants for a Research Engineering Technician III position. The candidate will work on nanofabrication and basic thermal measurements.

This is a temporary position expected to last under 89 days.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with Dr. Hao with nanofabrication and basic thermal measurements.
  • Perform thermal measurements, and coordinating the resulting data.
  • Perform a variety of support tasks in an engineering laboratory, including maintenance of nanofabrication equipment, including any required cleaning and sterilization of equipment.
  • Assist with maintenance of the laboratory, including ordering of inventory, and various record-keeping functions related to thermal measurements.
  • Learn to perform literature reviews by keeping track of advances in the field of nanoscale thermal imaging of an operating electronic device.
  • Under supervision of the PI, participate with co-authoring peer-reviewed conference papers, journal manuscripts, conference presentations, and posters.
  • Participate with presenting at conferences, symposiums, and other various events as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Skilled with all nanofabrication tools.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to handle assignments independently.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Prior work or internship experience in industry preferred though not required.
