Position Highlights

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology in the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy at the University of Arizona in Tucson invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor in neurotoxicology, injury, and repair. The successful candidate will join a department with current research strengths in multiple areas of pharmacology, toxicology, medicinal chemistry, and pharmaceutics. Excellent research infrastructure and opportunities exist for collaborations with researchers across the University of Arizona, such as the Center for Longevity and Neurotherapeutics, the Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center, the Superfund Research Program, One Health Research Initiative, Training in Environmental Toxicology of Human Disease T32, Bio5 Institute, and the Arizona Cancer Center.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in professional, graduate, and undergraduate degree programs.
  • Develop interdisciplinary research programs.
  • Maintain a strong extramurally-funded research program.
  • Actively participate in internal and external committees as needed.
  • Produce strong peer-reviewed publications.
  • Lead or contribute to "team science" based interdisciplinary research grants/projects.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD, PharmD, or MD degree.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record of presentations and peer-reviewed journal publications in toxicology, environmental health, neurotoxicology or related field.
  • Experience in toxicology and environmental health
