Position Highlights	University Facility Services Carpenter Shop is looking to fill a Carpenter, Lead position. We are interested in applicants who are passionate about the carpentry trade and who are interested in performing a variety of tasks with precision and safety. Leaders in University Facility Services are highly skilled in their trade, possess good people skills, and are interested in mentoring their staff. We are looking for a Carpentry Lead who is interested in helping to build a world class organization. Duties & Responsibilities	Serves as technical resource to the Carpentry shop on commercial cabinet and millwork related projects. Serve as customer service interface to meet onsite with customer to determine needs and then create design layout, cost estimates, and project plans. Assigns and inspects the work of Carpenters and Trades Helpers prioritizing and assigning tasks so that the team's resources are used effectively and that work schedules and targets are met. Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usage schedules and procedures for equipment maintenance. Determines material and labor estimates. Follows priorities and work order schedule in order to finish by completion date or before. Operates power saws, planers, lathes, joiners, shapers, drills, sanders and a variety of hand tools and performs hands-on preventative maintenance of these tools. Performs preventative maintenance work as required.
Minimum Qualifications	Completion of a high school education or an equivalent combination of apprenticeship program, technical training and/or experience. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. A Strong background in commercial cabinet and millwork design, fabrication and installation. Preferred Qualifications	CNC operations, programming Experience with Mosaik design software or similar 10 years commercial construction experience 10 years in commercial cabinet shop experience
